I bought my entire kitchen range from Café (GE) in November 2024, and the refrigerator has already become a nightmare.
The fridge stopped cooling in September this year; not even a full year after purchase. Since then I've had 6+ service visits from their partner (Bodwell), and not a single one fixed the issue.
Now, it's just barely a year past the purchase date and GE tells me I'm “out of warranty” so they “may not be able to help,” and I might even have to pay their service fee. Excuse me?? How is this acceptable? The issue started during the warranty period and they just kept sending techs who didn’t fix anything, basically running down the clock.
It didn’t even last a year.
Consider this a warning: stay far, far away from GE/Café appliances. Worst customer service, worst warranty support, and a complete waste of money.

I have been trying to get dryer fixed for over 8 months. This has been absolute hell. My wife is having a baby in 10 days and having an emergency c-section. I cannot leave the house once this happens for her care. I really need this dryer replaced yesterday. I have been working with the customer relations team for over 8 months to no resolve. I have been pleading with my case manager over the last 8 months that the service teams cannot repair my dryer. Months into this she gave me a letter of commitment to try to please me after months of apologies. I declined and wanted a different resolution because the service teams she kept sending have been at my home at least 5 times. My dryer is all scuffed up from the repeat dismantles. She declined to give me alternatives... It is months later into this so-called commitment, and they still cannot get my dryer repaired. This far exceeds a reasonable time frame for any repair. I've spent hundreds of dollars the past 8 months at the launderette despite paying for a dryer at my home. For some reason their team keeps sending me parts. I have three unopened heater and blowers, 2 unopened heating elements, 1 opened heating element, 3 boxed timers.. all encumbering my laundry room and kitchen. I have no clue when this will ever end or when I will get a resolve for this grossly unreasonable repair time. Any one else experienced this hell? Please blow up my twitter to support me if you can.

I would highly encourage anyone to not buy GE Appliances from Lowe's. I purchased the protection plan for 3 years and within those 3 years I've had to replace a dryer that took weeks to go through a process of it not being repairable and then they replaced it. Then as the protection plan was about to expire the washer broke down I have had several repairman come out and although they are honoring the warranty no one has been able to fix it but dealing with Bosewell repair company has been a nightmare. Two people have not been able to fix it. The most recent guy no showed and no call. I was told he got too busy. So Boswell is rescheduling for another week out. I asked lowes protection plan to schedule me with another company to repair my washer and they said because my appointment was rescheduled they have to escalate a ticket and I will hear back in 48 hours. Total BS!

After only 1 1/2 year the Agitator broke. Repair would cost more than a new washing machine. Called GE, they are not accommodating with helping you out. This should not have happened to a new machine!!!

At the end of July, I purchased a french door GE refrigerator from a local appliance store. 6 weeks later, it wasn't keeping cold. Call the store, the repair guy comes out, plugs the computer in, says there's a leak somewhere but it's a sealed system so he can't do anything about it. The store won't take the refrigerator back and are telling me I have to go through GE. Call GE, they send out a tech. Tech says its one of two things. One thing is fixable, one isn't. They have to try and fix it first and if the fix doesn't work they'll replace it. 2-5 business days to get the part. He said if it was within 30 days they'd automatically take it back and I could try and get the store to take it back. The store won't budge says this is a GE problem. It's now a week with no refrigerator.
