Questions? We've got answers.
What does a smart home hub protection plan cover?
SureBright Anywhere helps protect eligible smart home devices and hubs against unexpected mechanical and electrical breakdowns after the manufacturer's warranty ends. That includes eligible failures of internal hardware like the touchscreen display, control board, processor, memory hardware, internal power supply, physical buttons, status LEDs, and cooling fan, plus power surge protection that starts on your plan purchase date.
My hub's touchscreen stopped responding. Is that covered?
Yes. Touchscreen display failure is a covered hardware breakdown under the plan, after the manufacturer's warranty ends. If the screen has gone dark, stopped responding to touch, or developed display faults, that's eligible for repair or replacement.
Does the plan cover power surge damage?
Yes. Power surge protection begins on the date you purchase your plan, subject to its terms. If a surge damages your hub's internal electronics, that's eligible, though damage from improper use of an electrical power source is excluded.
Are software problems, failed updates, or app issues covered?
No. Software, firmware, and operating system issues are excluded, including failed firmware updates, app problems, and configuration issues. The plan covers physical hardware breakdowns, not the software side.
Does it matter where I bought my hub?
No. SureBright Anywhere protects eligible smart home devices purchased from major retailers, online marketplaces, or directly from the manufacturer. The coverage follows the device, not the store.
Is a protection plan worth it for a smart home hub?
If your hub is the center of your smart home, a hardware failure means everything connected to it goes down at once. The plan covers the internal hardware breakdowns that end a hub's life, including wear-related failures manufacturer warranties typically exclude, plus surge damage, which matters for a device that stays plugged in around the clock.
What do I need to do to keep my coverage valid?
Two things worth knowing upfront. Claims should be reported within 30 days of the failure, and the device needs to be maintained according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
My devices won't pair with the hub anymore. Is that covered?
No. Pairing failures and compatibility issues between devices, including Matter, Zigbee, and Z-Wave interoperability problems, are excluded as signal and configuration issues. If a diagnosed hardware failure of an internal radio chip is the confirmed cause, that specific hardware failure may be eligible, but connectivity symptoms alone don't qualify.
How do I file a claim?
Start a claim online with your Warranty Vault or contact the support team. And should there be issues with the claims process you can reach out to us directly via email or phone.
Is it possible to cancel my plan?
Yes, at any time. Cancel within the first 30 days for a full refund. After that, you may receive a prorated refund.
